95 Degree Picnic

We planned a picnic with some friends about a month ago (yes, I plan that far in advance) but when we planned, we had no idea that it was going to be 95 degrees out. We were able to find some shade and still enjoy our day.

The kids were able to fly some kites and did a good job not getting them into the trees.

The group next to us was nice enough to play their music so loud that we were able to dance.

It was Doug's birthday so I thought that it would be so fun to make some cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. It sounded like a great excuse to make some chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese filling. It was not such a great idea when I opened the container and all the cupcakes had melted together, it was more like eating pudding.

The kids did not seem to mind.

We even got a little birthday song in.

Thanks crew for such a fun day.

It WAS fun. And not too terribly hot in the shade. :)

So much fun! I wish we had some 95degree weather! It is just plain rainy and cloudy out this way! I guess the grass is always greener eh?? Happy Birthday Doug! Oh Megan and her hubby Joe were sealed in the temple this weekend! We really need to get together! Someday huh!?

Um, you can't say you made chocolate cupcakes with filling and not give the recipe. That's just rude to torture your readers :)

only 95, I thought New Yorkers were tough. All my students were laughing yesterday at all the news reports about the heat in NCY and DC. We just wish it 95. Even though melted cupcakes are not a laughing matter.

Hooray! We made your blog! It was so fun hanging out with you guys all afternoon. We're going to cry our eyes out when you move. Maybe we can drown our sorrows in some of those ooey gooey cupcakes.
