Botanical Gardens

We wanted to show Peter that New York has more to offer then just tall buildings and busy streets of people so we took him to the Bronx Botanical Gardens. (I say this because everyday I was getting a call from Peter saying that he was lost. I would ask where he was and he would say, "I am around some tall buildings and there are a lot of cars." Somehow we was always ending up on the east side). Anyway, back to the Botanical Gardens. It was suppose to be a rainy day but it turned out to be very nice.

This was my second time going and I am always amazed at how beautiful everything was. We cheated this time around and took the trolley. What normally would have taken us five hours to walk around, took us about 30 minutes. The garden is about 250 acres and I was not up for walking around that much.

We were lucky enough to see the Darwin's Garden. This exhibition explores the untold story of Charles Darwin's lifelong fascination and work with plants, including how flowers have evolved their extreme beauty and how plants are sensitive creatures responding to the least beam of sunlight and the pull of gravity.

When we came home we were able to add to our own beautiful display of flowers, thanks to Tawni and Nate Franklin. We are very excited to be living next to them soon in LA. Nate is attending UCLA right now and they have been helping us with moving, information, etc.

Peter is really getting his "Blue Steel" on, but Doug, what's up with adding crazy eyes to the classic "Ferrari" look?
